Hello everyone and welcome to the first blog post of the year!
MSO started off with an extremely happening event this term, which is the Welcoming Dinner. We've been hosting this dinner for the past 4 years every start of Term 1 and 3, and I've got to say, this is the largest turn out I've ever seen!
Over 100 people attended and it was definitely an event where everyone socialized their hearts out. Like all our previous dinners, this was hosted in Little Malaysia, located in The Grace, Sydney.
I remember when I was heading into this event for the first time (23T3 baby me), I was skeptical of the food. "Malaysian food in an angmo country? Probably cannot compare to Malaysia one la...", but I was proven wrong :OO I ordered the Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken, and it was extremely fragrant and I felt like it could actually compete with some of the Nasi Lemaks back in Malaysia 😱
Anyways, moving forward, I could tell that everyone attending were mostly freshers and I'm really happy to see that even though some people came alone, they came out of the event with one or two or MORE! friends. It's definitely really wholesome to see strangers connect, and even more so when we're all connecting THROUGH our Malaysian roots and of course, delicious food 😋
The event ended with a raffle, and congrats to our winner of the raffle, Qiao Yi! I hope you enjoy your brand new HOODIE [Reg. Price $32] (yeahp, that's right guys, join our events and maybe you'll one as well 😉)
